Chapter 02 · Why we build

Technology should make life better.

Most software is built to be impressive. We are interested in software that is useful.

The work starts with a problem somebody actually has — a screen read by a stranger on a train, a quote calculated in a van with no signal, a work session that never quite begins. From there it becomes a product decision, a design, an interface, and finally something that runs well on an ordinary phone.

We keep the scope small enough to finish, the ambition high enough to matter, and the promise honest enough to keep.

Independent
A small studio working on its own products, without investors to satisfy or a roadmap to inflate.
Practical first
Every product has to earn its place on someone’s home screen by doing one job well.
Privacy-conscious
Where a feature can be built without collecting data, we build it that way — and say so plainly.

Chapter 03 · How we work

Thoughtfully designed. Carefully engineered.

Six movements, repeated for every product. Not a ceremony — the shortest path from a real problem to something that works.

  1. Identify a meaningful problem

We start with a situation somebody recognises, not a technology looking for a use.

  2. Understand the user’s needs

Who has this problem, when they have it, and what they are already doing about it.

  3. Design an intuitive experience

The interface is decided before the feature list grows. Fewer decisions for the user, clearer ones for us.

  4. Engineer the product

Built to run well on ordinary hardware, with no dependency on a perfect connection.

  5. Test and refine

Real devices, real conditions, and a willingness to remove what does not earn its place.

  6. Improve continuously

A release is a checkpoint. The useful version is usually the fourth one.

Chapter 04 · The product universe

Meet the products built for real life.

Three products, each with its own character and its own reason to exist. Artwork on this site is original illustration — it is not an app screenshot.

In Development

ScreenSafe

Privacy utility · Android

A more privacy-conscious screen experience — designed to help notice when someone may be looking at your screen in public.

In Development

FocusForest Pro

Focus & relaxation

Create space for focus — an immersive forest atmosphere with layered rain, forest and fire ambient sound.

Prototype

JobCost Pro

Productivity · Field trade tool

Bring clarity to job costs — an offline-first job costing and material calculator concept for the trades.

Status labels are verified, not assumed. Each product states whether it is available, in development, a prototype or planned. Features and release timing are confirmed before they are described as shipping.

Chapter 05 · The principles

Built with purpose.

Six commitments that decide what gets built, what gets removed and how the result is described.

01

Useful over complex

If a feature does not solve the problem it was added for, it does not ship. Simplicity is a decision we make repeatedly.

02

Privacy-conscious by default

On-device processing, local storage and no-account design are engineering choices, not marketing lines. We state what a product does and does not collect.

03

Thoughtful and accessible

Readable type, real contrast, keyboard operation and visible focus states are part of the definition of done, not a later pass.

04

Performance on real devices

We design for mid-range Android hardware and average connections, not for flagship phones on fast Wi-Fi.

05

Transparent information

Status, availability and limitations are stated plainly — including when the honest answer is “not yet”.

06

Continuous improvement

Products are maintained after launch, not abandoned at version one. Feedback changes the roadmap.

Chapter 06 · The future

The next useful idea starts here.

We are a small studio with a long list. If you have a problem worth solving, or you want to know more about what we are building, the door is open.
