JobCost Pro
Bring clarity to job costs.
JobCost Pro is a concept for the trades: an offline-first costing tool that turns a materials list into a defensible number before a quote is sent. It is being prototyped for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping and handyman work, where the maths is straightforward but doing it on a phone, in a van, with no signal, is not.
The problem
A contractor pricing a job on site is usually doing arithmetic in a notes app. Waste factors, currency, tax and material prices are all in someone's head, the result is hard to check later, and the working disappears when the phone is closed.
Who it is for
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical and landscaping contractors
- Handyman and maintenance services quoting on site
- Trade businesses that need a repeatable, auditable cost per job
What it is designed to do
The statements below describe the design direction of the product. Each one is confirmed against the released build before it is presented as shipping functionality.
-
Offline-first
The tool is designed to work with no connection at all — costing in a basement or a field should not depend on signal.
-
No account required
No login and no cloud dependency are part of the design. Jobs live where the user puts them.
-
Local data storage
Job records are intended to stay on the device, with export available so the user owns the numbers.
-
World currency selection
Currency is treated as a per-job setting rather than a hard-coded assumption.
-
Multiple-language support
Interface languages are planned as a configuration choice, added as translations are completed and reviewed.
-
Free tier and premium
The intended model is a free tier limited to three jobs with advertising, and a paid monthly subscription for unlimited jobs, premium features and an ad-free experience.
Availability
Prototype stage. The feature set above is the intended product requirement, not a list of shipped functionality. No subscription price, free-tier limit or advertising implementation is being advertised as live.
Platform: Android (concept)
Privacy
No login, no account and no server-side storage of job data are part of the concept. Any advertising in a free tier would be disclosed in the store listing and the in-app privacy policy.
